Moto + Yoga ride Sunday March 20th

This Sunday we will be riding in the OC up to Long Beach where our friend and fellow rider @oliveyogalb has set up a private yoga class designed specifically for motorcyclists. (Suggested donation $10.00) We will meet at 9:30 in Dana Point and ride up the coast to LBC. So grab your mat if you would like to join or just come for the ride. See you then!

We took a moment to ask Elizabeth a few questions so we could learn more about her and her moto experience.

What do you ride, when did you start riding and why?

I ride a 2001 1200 Sportster that I customized. My dad taught me how to ride when I was 11 on his Honda. I’m glad he did b/c he died when I was 13.  I rode a lot of ATC three wheelers in the Dunes of Oceano growing up.  I got onto the back of a lot of bikes but then decided, after my dumb divorce and finding out some seriously disturbing shit, to start riding again.  My good friend/yogi/rowing/musician-friend Larry let me ride his 69 Superhawk and it was like I had never not ridden! I was so stoked to be on two wheels solo style.  I decided then and there I would be getting my own ASAP.  I was looking at Triumphs and then started dating a guy who showed me a bunch of mags and I loved the bobbed out – ratty look so I went with a Harley that  I bought in the Joshua Tree and rode through the desert and fell in love! Sounds silly but true! I rode out past Pappy & Harriets to the sun setting and the moon rising.  I ride because it is one of the most freeing present things I’ve ever done! It’s like my yoga.

How did you come to know Belles On Bikes?

I discovered Belles on Bikes after Daniella put a card on my sparkly pink gripped bike knowing it was a goddesses bike! 🕉🙏🏻💝  I called and met up for an all female ride that ended up getting shortened due to the rain but we rode hard through HB to LB from Anaheim HD!  I ride with them as often as I can.

Tell us about your yoga studio.

My studio is my dream come to fruition through many years of planning and getting funds! It is 1800 square feet of bliss! Amazing energy and bright light. I get to share the path on a daily basis and that is truly bliss.  I am honored to create community and wellness in the city I love! I have three amazing teachers and guest teachers.  My space is open for events and collaboration!  Downtown LBC has an awesome new energy and feel and I am grateful to be a part of such a great group of people who support local business and each other in such a mindful way.
